Introduction
Stories can take on so many forms and I like to dabble. I write long stories, short stories, poems, songs, job descriptions, AI prompts, character backgrounds...whatever it is I am in the mood to do. They are all, in their own way, stories. What do I want the AI to create? What emotions does the poem convey? What does the person doing the job need to know about their responsibilies? It is difficult for someone wo understand something they cannot picture or at least relate to in some way. Stories make words relateable. Here I will share the process of telling a story, from its conception in my mind to the physical, bound version that I will one day be able to hold in my hand. But, I will also share more mundane and lifely struggles. We are building a house, so I am sure that will come up. We are in the recovery stage of a federally declared natural disaster so the things to tell are boundless. We are in the transition of a new presidential administration...it is possible this could impact how, when, and why I tell my stories, though this is in no way a political blog. We are the parents of two elderly dogs, and their lives have seen some story-worthy moments. We also have two cats of opposing personalities and their antics are sometimes all-consuming. Not to mention that my husband is an excellent cook, so you could possibly find some recipes here that have left a permanant imprint on my mind.
There are also some moments in my life that I think are relateable and could serve to assist others in their own story. Telling stories is a theraputic outlet for me, and I know I am not alone. I also know that hearing the stories of others is theraputic as well. We are not alone, far from it, and we all have spaces to be heard. This can be one of them.
My intention is to post something weekly, but an intention does not an execution make. Eventually, once I get the hang of everything, I may even organize myself a bit more and have prepared themes and add videos and pictures and all the other things that make blogs attractive. A slow start is better than no start, however, so I am just going to give it a go! It may be a winding, bumpy, all-wheel drive only road, but it is something.
Come with me!
